Judging Others

"Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye', while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye."

Matthew 7: 1-5

"Judging others," has been on my mind lately. How quickly we all rush to judge and how easy it is to do it. Through my own journey this year I have been trying to listen more than judge, which means that I also have to re-work or un-do some of my personal conditioning. It is a very freeing experience, however, it can be difficult to hear others do it and you say to yourself, "well how do I tell this person that I do not want to hear their judgmental opinions or judging of others." Well the answer to that is that you don't! You can choose to listen and not say anything or just practice silence, otherwise if you do tell someone that you do not want to hear their judgmental attitudes or behaviors, then you are being judgmental. Does this make sense??
